Using a potent option running attack, Central Connecticut State ran through, around and past Lehigh on Saturday at Goodman Stadium, stunning the Mountain Hawks 28-21 in a nonleague college football opener at Goodman Stadium.
Dominating on the ground 233 yards to 62, CCSU spoiled Lehigh's 2009 season opener, but gave its coach Jeff McInerney a happy return trip to where he was born and where he still has family and friends.
Lehigh, bogged down by three interceptions, never led as CCSU had leads of 7-0,
